Family & Children Care
We feel that it is crucial that children are introduced to the dental team at a young age,
and families are encouraged to come as a group so that a visit to the dentist doesn’t become a stressful experience.
We are one of the few local practices that still see children on the NHS.
Preventive Care
We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure; the majority
of our adult patients have regular check–ups and Dental Hygienist
appointments to ensure that their teeth and gums are in the best possible condition.
Restorative Care
We can provide a full range of dental treatment from routine restorative care to cosmetic work.
For fillings we would always try and use the newer white plastic materials
instead of the “old fashioned” silver metal fillings, although this is not
always possible or even appropriate in every case.
Our cosmetic work includes tooth-whitening, porcelain
veneers and crowns for those wishing to improve their appearance.
Missing teeth can be replaced of course, and although traditional
techniques such as bridges and dentures are still widely used we
recommend dental implants where possible. We liaise closely with
our specialist colleagues in these cases.
Orthodontics (“Braces”)
We are one of the few dental practices in the area to provide
orthodontic treatment. We can use either “train-track” fixed braces, traditional
removable braces or state-of-the –art invisible braces, whichever is most appropriate.
In recent years the N.H.S. has imposed quite tight restrictions on the
availability of orthodontic treatment. If your orthodontic problem is not
severe enough for N.H.S. treatment to be allowed, there is always
the option for it to be done on a private basis.
Also… More and more adults are choosing to have braces – they are no longer just for teenagers!
Protection
Another form of prevention : we recommend custom-made
mouthguards for those who play contact sports as they offer much
better protection than the “DIY” type available in sports shops.
They can be made in a huge variety of styles and colours, and are extremely
durable.
